Gorgeous holiday hair: easy up-do

Long hair in the heat can feel hot and sticky. Twist small sections of your hair away from your face. Use bobbi pins, such as Boots Essential Blonde Blending Hair Grips, £1.38, to secure them either high, centrally or low in the nape of your neck. Gather the rest of your hair and loosely twist it round like a rope. Either leave it in a ponytail or twist up into a bun. For full sun protection, throw on a chic floppy sun hat. Alternatively go for a Jackie O-style head scarf – an intricately printed silk scarf from Liberty (from £95; www.liberty.co.uk) or Zara’s cotton version (from £19.99; www.zara.com). First secure your hair into a bun, fold scarf diagonally in half. With the point at the nape of your neck, drape over your head and tie in a knot. Secure with pins.
