I want to invest in good hair straightening irons. Which ones do you recommend?
Nicky Clarke's desiRED Straighteners, £89.99 (Boots) and Andrew Barton's Straight Answer, £80 (Asda) are both good options. Both heat up quickly, have good quality plates to protect the hair as much as possible (given the nature of the product), and a choice of heat settings depending on your hair type.
Clarke's also automatically switches off if it hasn't been used for 72 minutes and Barton's boasts an Advanced CeramicsTM heater for ultra-fast heat-up and heat recovery to maintain a constant high temperature, preventing cold spots. This results in instant straightening, reducing the need to repeatedly go back over the hair which is what causes the damage. Always use a heat protection spray beforehand to limit damage too.
