A rather low-key wedding is exactly what Zara Phillips wanted as she wed long-term boyfriend, rugby star Mike Tindall at the weekend. A wedding that was all about family, friends and a special location; here she arrives with dad Captain Mark Phillips at the 17th-century Canongate Kirk on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Zara's close connection to Scotland stretch back to her time in boarding school; she also spent many summers at Holyroodhouse Palace.
Her dress was an off-the-peg ivory silk and satin design by favoured royal couturier Stewart Parvin, who also dressed her grandmother the Queen. With a nod to 'Sex and the City', the bride's shoes were by Jimmy Choo; her makeup was Bobbi Brown, a brand that is also a favourite with her new cousin Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Who doesn't love pastels for a wedding - and the Queen is no exception. You may call this 'peach' but it's actually 'apricot pink'. Prepare for a slew of coat dresses to hit the high streets for late summer weddings; the Queen's outfit was designed by long-standing royal favourite Stewart Parvin, who also dressed the bride. She's working the latest fashion trend with her coral coloured pleated skirt; eye-catching floral prints are the perfect choice for summer weddings though this jacket is over fussy around the neckline and not the easiest look to pull off. Keeping it low key also was Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, wearing a pale gold coat dress by Jane Troughton which was on its second outing - also worn for the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles and Harry Lopes in 2006. Teamed with a large eye-catching hat, she manages to pull this difficult shape off - but only just. Behind her, cousin Eugenie HRH, cuts a less elegant dash.

And here she is in full glory. While it's a vast improvement on the multi-coloured outfit chosen for royal wedding number one in April, the shape of this Angela Kelly outfit is not flattering to Princess Eugenie's curvy figure - too much 'bustling' going on. The colours are good though, elegant beige and brown complement the Princess's colouring. Remind yourself of 'that other royal wedding look' here

That this wedding was a relaxed affair was evident from the guest list - TV stars and pop singers in place of politicans and heads of state. As well as Corrie star Katherine Kelly, The Saturdays singer Una Healy was there with boyfriend Ben Foden, a rugby team-mate of the groom. Fashion critics were stern about her decision to show both clevage and leg - tut tut - but at least she bared all in sunshine rather than rain.
