A good fitted blazer is a must-have this spring. It flatters all shapes and can be worn with fitted skirts or tailored trousers or teamed with heels to dress up your jeans. Complete the look with a practical oversized shopper bag.

The secret to a slimmer silhouette is great-fitting underwear. Avoid lace under tailored clothes as it can give your outline unwanted lumps. Instead, opt for some Spanx Power Panties, £22, at Evans (evans.co.uk), which will give you a smooth line.

If you have slim legs, show them off in smart slim-leg trousers. Choose a vertical stripe and your legs will look long and super-lean.
