Cosmopolitan granita
Ingredients
150g (5oz) granulated sugar
600ml (1 pint) cranberry juice
4tbsp vodka
1tbsp Cointreau
1tbsp lime juice
Your favourite recipe, only frozen!

Method
1 Put the sugar in a small saucepan with 150ml (¼ pint) cold water. Stir over a low heat, without boiling, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
2 Pour the sugar syrup into a shallow freezer-proof plastic container, then add the cranberry juice, vodka, Cointreau and lime juice. Stir until evenly mixed. Freeze for about 4 hrs until just firm.
3 Break up the mixture with a fork until flaky. Cover the container and freeze for another 4 hrs or overnight.
4 Remove from freezer and break up with a fork until slushy. Spoon into chilled glasses and serve straight away, or return to the freezer until required.
