Easy lasagne
Ingredients
2tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
2tsp dried oregano
750g (1½lb) minced beef
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 x 600g-700g jar tomato sauce (eg Loyd Grossman's Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce)
2tsp sugar
250g (9oz) fresh or ‘no pre-cooking required' dried lasagne
2 x 350g tubs fresh carbonara sauce (eg Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Carbonara Sauce)
250g (9oz) grated mozzarella
Baby spinach or rocket leaves, to serve (optional)

Method
1 Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan, gas mark 6).
2 Heat the oil in a large saucepan and cook the onion and oregano over a low heat for 5 min until the onion softens. Add the beef and garlic, and increase the heat to medium and cook until the meatchanges colour. Pour in the tomato sauce, rinse the jar out with 150ml (¼ pint) water and pour into the pan. Add the sugar, season and stir well. Simmer for 10 min until slightly reduced.
3 In a 3-litre (5¼-pint) baking dish, spread a quarter of the meat sauce. Layer a third of the pasta sheets side by side on top, then a third of the remaining meat sauce, a third of the carbonara sauce and a third of the cheese. Repeat the layering twice, using up the remaining ingredients.
4 Bake for 40 min until the top is browned and the pasta is tender when pierced. Leave to stand for 10-15 min before cutting. Serve with spinach or rocket if using.
