Reduce your Waste with Kenco’s Waste Less Challenge

Could your household benefit from a packaging diet? Join Kenco’s campaign to slim the nation’s bins

Many of us have good intentions when it comes to the environment, but despite our best efforts thousands of tonnes of packaging waste is still thrown away each year in the UK. Often, it's the small changes that we make on a daily basis that can have the biggest impact. With this in mind, Kenco is encouraging coffee lovers to make one tiny change to their shopping routine which could have a big effect on the amount of waste sent to landfill each year.

Kenco has introduced new Eco Refill packs. The new packs have excellent green credentials, with 97% less packaging weight than traditional glass jars (per gram of coffee), and they are also the inspiration behind Kenco's new nationwide campaign to reduce household waste.

 

The Waste Less Challenge is led by Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and eco designer Oliver Heath. The challenge will follow selected households across the UK as they begin a ‘packaging diet' in a bid to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. ‘Make do and mend' expert Oliver Heath will be demonstrating easy ways to reuse household items, from how to transform your empty Kenco coffee jars into decorative garden lanterns to creative ideas for reusing old clothing. Amanda will be on hand with innovative suggestions for reducing everyday household waste, and will be encouraging the nation to share their tips for reusing everyday items.
