Ingredients

U.S. U.K. Conversion chart
  • 900 gram(s) carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 700 gram(s) (1½lb) celeriac, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 50 gram(s) butter

Method

  1. Bring a large pan of lightly salted water to the boil. Add the carrots and celeriac, cover and cook for 10-15min until tender. Drain and leave to steam dry in the colander for 2min - this stops the mash being soggy.
  2. Melt the butter in the pan, then add the drained veg and mash roughly. Season to taste and serve at once.
