  • For each serving, break 30g finest dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoon(s) water
  • 200 ml milk

Method

  1. For each serving, break 30g finest dark chocolate into a small pan, add 2 tbsp water and melt together over a gentle heat.
  2. Gradually whisk in 200ml hot, but not boiling milk. Whisk over a low heat until the chocolate is smooth and frothy.
  3. Serve at once, varying the basic formula with a dash of brandy, or a spoonful of lightly sweetened and vanilla-flavoured whipped cream. Recipe by Shona Crawford Poole
