Ingredients

U.S. U.K. Conversion chart
  • 1 large baguette
  • 2 clove(s) garlic
  • olive oil

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (170°C fan) mark 5. Cut 1 large baguette at an angle into 30 slices, each 1cm (1/2in) thick. Rub both sides with garlic - you'll need about 2 cloves - and brush with olive oil. Put on a baking sheet and cook for 15-20min, turning halfway through. Cool. Top with a combination of black olive tapenade, green or red pesto, marinated red peppers and artichokes, mozzarella, goat's cheese, Parma ham or salami . Garnish with basil or shavings of Parmesan .
  2. GET AHEAD Store the crostini bases in an airtight container. The time plan recommends making them the day before the party, but the bread will keep in an airtight container for up to a week. Assemble the crostini up to a day ahead, then garnish just before serving.
