Pp mulled wine compote

  • 1.1 kilogram(s) (1lb 2oz) plums
  • 1  bottle red wine sachet of mulling wine spices
  • 4 tablespoon(s) Grand Marnier
  • 4  clementines
  • 5 tablespoon(s) runny honey
  • 4  star anise
  • 1 tablespoon(s) arrowroot, mixed with 1tbsp cold water

Method

  1. Put plums in a pan with red wine and mulling wine spices, juice of 2 clementines, honey and star anise. Heat gently for 20 mins till plums are tender. Slice remaining 2 clementines.
  2. Remove plums from pan then add sliced clementines. Bring wine to the boil, add arrowroot and stir till thickened. Return plums to pan and cool. Serve in decorative glasses.
