Tideford Organics Basil Pesto

pasta,Italian food,food stories,sauces,organic Tideford pesto

More than just a dressing for pasta - although it\'s very good like that - this pesto is great with a steak, fab dolloped on top of cannellini bean purée on crusty bread and stirred into soup for that unique basil and garlic hit. We love it!

Cropwell Bishop Stilton

hard cheese,food stories,blue cheese,organic Cropwell Stilton

Good stilton is hard to beat and this one made in the heart of Nottinghamshire has all the qualities of the top notch, very British blue cheese. It should be served at room temperature to really appreciate the creamy flavour. There isn\'t a hint of salt and, when you cut it open, it\'s threaded evenly throughout with ribbons of blue veining. A star with crisp apples, onion chutney and some home-baked bread. Fabulous.

\r\n\r\n

Cropwell Bishop organic half blue stilton, £62.04 per 3.5kg or available from cheese shops nationwide.

Godminster Vintage Organic Cucumber Vodka

cucumbers,food stories,organic Godminster Vodka

With a really fresh cucumber taste, this is an ideal alternative to straight vodka in a Bloody Mary - just make sure you add a dash of Worcestershire sauce and plonk a stick of celery in the glass, too. Or you could use it for a dressing on smoked salmon. Splash a good glug into a small pan and add a little lemon zest. Bring to the boil and simmer for a couple of seconds, then pour hot over slices of smoked salmon or leave to cool and use in the same way. Alternatively just drink it!

There\'s a great range of flavoured yogurts from Yeo Valley but the natural one is our favourite. Made with whole milk, the taste is rich and creamy and it\'s brilliant for cooling down a spicy curry and for baking, too - swap it for the butter in banana cake to make a lower-fat version.

Sharpham Park Pearled Spelt

food stories,organic pr sharpham barley

Spelt is a grain which looks a bit like rice, but is in fact related to wheat. It has a delicious nutty flavour and you can use this in the same way as you would risotto rice. Here\'s an easy recipe: sauté an onion or a couple of shallots in a little olive oil and butter until soft. Stir in some diced courgette or butternut squash, then add the spelt and stock. Cook until tender then stir in some shredded roast chicken and parsley. Voilà - a simple one-pot supper.
