  • 6 slice(s) brown soda bread
  • unsalted butter, chilled
  • 100-150g smoked cod's roe, skinned and thinly sliced
  • lemon juice
  • black pepper
  • watercress to serve

Method

  1. Toast the soda bread. Cut into fingers or squares depending on the shape. Pop a sliver of chilled butter onto each one, then a sliver of cod's roe. Squeeze over a little lemon juice and grind over some black pepper. Serve with a few sprigs of watercress.
