Young turnips with bacon

• 800 gram(s) (13/4lb) small young turnips (or larger turnips, halved or quartered), scrubbed
• 2 teaspoon(s) sugar
• 100 gram(s) (31/2oz) butter
• 100 gram(s) (31/2oz) bacon lardons
• 2 tablespoon(s) finely chopped chervil

Method

1. Place the turnips, sugar and half the butter in a large saucepan and just cover with boiling water. Season and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 8-10 minutes or until tender. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat the remaining butter in a frying pan. When hot, add the bacon lardons and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until lightly browned. Add the drained turnips and toss to mix well.
