Nespresso Le Cube £149
Here\'s what the GHI had to say: \'Well designed machine which is easy to use and looks great. Empty pods drop into waste container which can be removed with drip tray and washed out. Side mounted water tank is easy to access. Good crema and colour, best flavour from the larger serving size. Thick and heavy body with an edgy flavour.\'

Russell Hobbs Glass 4 slice toaster, £69.99
GHI tried & tested,Good Housekeeping,gadget
russell hobbs toaster
What the GHI had to say:
\'Batch toasting test produced even browning and acceptable coverage but this became less even as the test progressed. Coverage and colour was good for the frozen test but inner faces were darker. Thick bread and bagels were evenly browned with good coverage. It stays on standby if kept on at the wall. Press controls are at the front for easy access but are quite small.\'

Simac II Gelataio GC5000 £199.99
GHI tried & tested,ice cream,Good Housekeeping,gadget
ice cream maker gelataio
What the GHI had to say:
\'Instructions could be more detailed but provide a good choice of recipes. Paddle turns more swiftly than the other machines which produced a light, whipped ice cream result. Easily coped with chocolate chips and quick to thicken. Choice of three functions: freeze only, paddle only and freeze and paddle. Doesn\'t automatically switch off when thick.\'

Rival Crockpot Versaware SC7500-IUK £39.99
GHI tried & tested,Good Housekeeping,gadget
crock pot slow cooker
What the GHI had to say:
\'The only model which lets you put the inner pot straight on the hob to brown food before it goes back in the outer shell to cook. Produced a very moist casserole. It is a little awkward to scoop food out of the pot and you can\'t see through the lid to check progress.\'

KtichenAid Artisan Food Processor £269
GHI tried & tested,Good Housekeeping,gadget
Kitchenaid food processor
What the GHI had to say:
\'Bowl and lid lock together securely. For safety the motor won\'t start unless the pusher is in place. Performed well on chopping, grating and slicing tests but the plastic paddle splashes cream up bowl sides, making it hard to view progress. Remains stable when kneading bread and mixes cleanly. Solid bowl, very clear instructions.\'

KitchenAid Artisan Mixer £349
GHI tried & tested,Good Housekeeping,gadget
kitchenaid mixer
What the GHI had to say:
\'Sturdy machine which doesn\'t move even with heavy mixtures. Left bowl clean after making dough. Coped well with minimum and maximum amounts of mixture. Speed control and the lifting control are on either side of the machine which means it is hard to use unless the bowl is angled towards you. Attachments are a little awkward and messy to remove. Handle on bowl makes pouring out mixture mess free and easy. Good egg white volume. Clear instructions.\'
