Top of the Class

When you're short of time, it helps to have some versatile ingredients
to hand that you can use in all manner of different ways. We all know that Philadelphia tastes delicious spread on a bagel, but its subtle, distinctive flavour and creamy texture works well in fabulous dishes too. There are so many varieties to choose from, including Extra Light, Light with Garlic & Herbs and now Light with Basil. It's perfect in quick starters, delicious mains or even mouthwatering desserts. To prove how versatile Philadelphia is, we asked Good Housekeeping, Prima and All About You readers to send in their favourite original recipes. The best three were invited to the Good Housekeeping Institute for a ‘cook off' judged by the Good Housekeeping team.

The winner Lynne Brown, from Putney, London wowed the judges with her Chicken and Porcini in a sweet Marsala sauce recipe. GH Cookery editor Alison Walker commented how original and simple the recipe was.
