User Profile

It is your responsibility to keep the information in your Persona profile up-to-date. You should especially ensure that your email address is kept current as this is your user name. If you need to alter your email address please send both the old and new ones to communities@allaboutyou.com.  You can alter any of the fields in your profile.

Your previous user name (for members of the old sites) will be needed temporarily to log into the old forums while they remain attached to this site.  If you have forgotten what this is, you may request a reminder by emailing: communities@allaboutyou.com

 

Signature

After you have registered, you may set your signature on your profile page. This is a piece of text or an image that you would like to be inserted at the end of all your posts, a little like having headed note paper.

You will have the option to include your signature on any posts you make. If you have specified a signature, then the board will automatically append your signature to any messages you post. You can disable signatures on your Persona Profile page.

 

Avatars (pictures under your username)

These small images are called Avatars. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. There are two kinds of avatars: those provided by the administrator and those that you upload yourself. You may select an avatar that best describes your personality on your Persona Profile page. The Communities Manager may also have enabled custom avatars, which allows you to upload an avatar image from your computer.

 

House rules

We want every user to have an enjoyable experience on our discussion boards. We therefore expect that anyone who uses an allaboutyou.com account will act in a responsible manner and have respect for their fellow users. To this end, we enforce our Rules, which you agree to implicitly when registering an account and contributing to any community area.

 

What happens if a post is in breach of the rules?

Posts in breach of the rules may be edited or removed as per our moderation policy, and offending users may be temporarily suspended or permanently banned. If you see a post which you feel is in breach of the rules, please report it by clicking on the ‘Report abuse' link under the post in question.

 

What is a Communities Manager?

The Communities Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of the allaboutyou.com forums, blogs, image galleries and comments.  If you have any questions to ask of the Communities Manager please send an email to communities@allaboutyou.com

 

What will it cost me to become a member of the site?

Nothing.  Not a penny.  Being a member of allaboutyou.com is completely free but has enormous benefits.

 

What will it cost to subscribe to newsletters?

Nothing.  All our newsletters are sent out free of charge and you can even choose which areas eg food, craft, you receive.

 

Who do I contact about my magazine subscription?

Email any question or request regarding your paid-for magazine subscription, eg change of address details, subscriber number request etc to natmags@subscription.co.uk or call them on 0844 848 5203 (UK based subscribers) or 44 1858 438838 (Overseas subscribers).
