Fashion inspiration from the films

Masculine chic

Katharine Hepburn created a controversial style icon as she cultivated a love of trousers, suits and all-in-one jump suits. Her scandalous weakness for menswear showed off both her independence and femininity and "prompted generations of fashion designers to captivate her vitality and spirit", according to Calvin Klein.

In 'Bringing Up Baby', she debuted her signature style, which had not been seen in films before. Famously on the set, the studio took away her trousers and demanded she wore a skirt - so, Katharine walked around the studio in her underwear until they returned them to her.
