5 beauty tips that never date
Everything is trend-driven these days but some beauty tips are timeless. Society facialist Tracey Malone offers expert advice for natural beauty that costs next to nothing
Tracey Malone1. Treat your skin to a home-made face mask
An old remedy is to mix three teaspoons of good quality natural yoghurt with one teaspoon of natural honey. Then add two drops of rose oil and two teaspoons of sweet almond oil. Mix well and apply on to clean skin as a mask. Leave for a minimum of five minutes, then with two cotton pads soaked in tepid water, cleanse the facial area with gentle upward movements to remove the mask.
2. Indulge in a ‘Roman cleanse'
Cleanse skin, then pour warm hot water into a clean bowl and soak two face cloths in the water. Gently squeeze out excess water, fold them in half and place one each side of the face. Relax for five minutes, then gently wipe the face and neck free from the cleanser. The skin will be left feeling soft and dewy (this is especially good to do after the yoghurt mask).
3. Treat your feet
Mix three tablespoons of coarse sea salt with three tablespoons of sweet almond oil to make a paste. You can also add an essential oil for scent if required. Soak feet in warm water then gently rub paste in circular movements onto heels and soles of feet for about five minutes. Rinse well and gently pat dry feet.
4. Rehydrate skin
To combat dry and dehydrated skin, mash an avocado and apply to face.
5. Rest your eyes
Renowned 20th century kkincare expert Madame Lubatti always recommended using cold milk for tired and sore eyes and I still practice this today! Pour a small amount of very cold milk onto two damp cotton wool pads and gently squeeze out any excess. Place the cotton pads over your eyes, relax for 10 minutes and then gently wipe the eye area clean with cool water.
Who was Madame Lubatti?
Madame Lubatti was a renowned homeopath and skincare expert who hand-mixed skincare products for society ladies of 1920's London and English royalty. Eileen Malone worked alongside this skincare guru and handed down the secret recipes to her daughter Tracey.
Today Tracey is a leading skincare expert and facialist who counts royalty and Hollywood A-listers among her clients. Using Madame Lubatti's secret recipes, she has just launched the Lubatti skincare collection, available exclusively at SpaceNK stores nationwide and online at www.lubatti.com.
