TIGI Bed Head Some Like it Hot hair care shampoo and conditioner
£9.10 and £9.90, www.tigihaircare.com
The products are packaged in a bright yellow tube - very funky and modern. The blurb says it is made from avocado, grape, Aloe and cucumber and, bizarrely, the overall smell is fresh and lemony. Perfect, as it brings holidays to mind.
I have used it in Turkey in 50 degree heat by day and 25 degrees at night, and I can honestly say that it lives up to its name. My hair is thin and straight and has been blow dried every day leaving it soft, silky and smooth - definitely NOT frizzy.
I was very impressed, although slightly taken aback by the price - £9 per bottle. I don't think I would be persuaded to pay that for a bottle of shampoo, and then the same again for a conditioner, but if you usually pay that then this is definitely a good buy.
I would recommend the product as it did exactly what it said on the tin and award it 8 marks out of 10. It lost marks for being expensive in my opinion.

Kerastase Soleil Masque UV Defense Active
£21.00, www.hairhq.com
Summer generally spells a bit of a nightmare for me when it comes to my hair. I have thick, curly hair that I have coloured every eight weeks and despite having long abandoned highlights in favour of a deep red, the sun still does its best to dry out my curls and dull my colour. This gorgeous mask from Kerastase promises great things from the luxurious packaging and silky smooth texture, not to mention the high-end price tag, and it definitely delivered. It's a joy to use as I could feel my frazzled locks becoming smoother to the touch as soon as I applied the cream, and the UV filters helped maintain the vibrancy of my colour throughout long weekends spent in the park. My hair was much easier to style after using this as well and if you have problems with frizz, seasonal dryness or fading colour, this is the product for you.

Soltan Hair and Scalp spray with SPF 15
£7.99, www.boots.com
I have to say I wasn't really expecting anything more than the sun protection for my scalp from this spray having used the Soltan range before, but the great condition of my hair after using this product was a fantastic suprise. The spray was easily absorbed and didn't leave my hair feeling or looking greasy at any point on my holiday. I loved being able to swim without wearing a hat as my scalp was so well protected with regular applications of the spray throughout the day. This is a must if you are taking children away to sunnier climes, as they don't always understand the importance of wearing a hat in the sun and with this spray you needn't worry.

Tommy Guns Climate Control Styling spray
£5.99, available at Waitrose and John Lewis,
Summer, especially British summers, are not always full of lazy sunny days. What I loved about this spray is that it guards your hair against the effects of sun damage as well holding your style when faced with humidity and sudden showers too. My curly hair often looses its volume as soon as I step outside on a humid day, and I didn't expect such a lightweight spray to be able to hold in the volume but I was pleasantly suprised. It smells fantastic too, and at such a reasonable price I would definitely recommend this product to a friend and will be continuing to use it whatever the weather.
