How it works

It wouldn't be the festive season without an array of delicious party snacks, right? But did you know foods such as salted peanuts and salty crisps can make you gain pounds in extra water? We have designed a low-salt, low-cal plan, great for undoing any water retention and weight gain after over indulging at the buffet table in the past couple of weeks. It’s strict but will get results!

The rules

● Simply follow our plan that includes one breakfast, lunch and dinner plus two snacks per day. One meal has to be a veggie juice.

● Aim to drink at least 2ltrs of fluid every day (you need to drink more fluid to lose it when you have water retention). This can include water, herbal tea, low-cal squash or decaf tea and coffee taken black. But strictly no booze. Sorry!

● Don’t add salt to your food or cooking.

● Do 2 minutes of dry-skin brushing before getting dressed in the morning. Brush your tum, bum and thighs in the direction of your heart using light strokes.

● Follow this diet for 3 days – but no longer.

● Veggie juice Each day, blitz 2 sticks of celery, 1 carrot and 3 tomatoes, all finely chopped, in a blender, adding water until your preferred consistency.

Day 1

Breakfast 30g branflakes served with skimmed milk.
Snack 1 banana.
Lunch 1 or 2 glasses of veggie juice (above).

Day 2

Snack 1 apple.
Lunch Tuna sandwich made with 2 slices of wholemeal bread, a little low-fat spread, 100g tuna in spring water, lettuce, tomato and onion.

Dinner 1 or 2 glasses of veggie juice.

Day 3
