Victoriana by the sea

Illustrator Ginny Morgan and her husband Jason lovingly restored this Victorian villa on the island of Guernsey. This inspiring family home demonstrates Ginny\'s eye for the beautiful and the unusual. Here the barge-boarding around the edge of the roof is beautifully decorative.

The personal touch

Glass jars, shells, graphic letters and Ginny\'s handmade calico dolls form still-life arrangements on the bookshelf in the lounge. The personal touch is priceless.

Nautical palette

Seaside influences and a nautical colour palette is in keeping with the island location of this Guernsey home. Blue and white keeps the mood fresh and light in the children\'s room.

Festive fun

Light floods into the kitchen through a large bay window and skylight. A sense of suspended celebration hangs in the air thanks to the coloured bunting that has been left hanging after a birthday.

Family kitchen

Freestanding and fitted units are stylishly combined in the family kitchen, very much in keeping with the mix and match approach of the house.

Dine in style

The dining area in the kitchen has been kept simple with clean, white chairs and a crisp linen tablecoth.

Cosy cushions

Ginny sews her own cushions from old fabrics to create a unique warm and lived-in atmosphere.

Whimsical charm

Crisp stripes are teamed with bright cushions and whimsical details in one of Ginny\'s sons\' rooms.

Blue is the colour

The attic bathroom is painted in Farrow & Ball\'s Skylight blue; a beautifully calming shade.
