After a year of house hunting Lauren Floodgate gave up. Either she couldnt afford what what she saw or didn't like it. Instead Lauren and her family have decided to extend and stay put and build an adventurous extension. 'Were changing a three-bedroom house into a four-bedroom, adding a utility room, new en-suite, garage and porch,' explains Lauren. They have spent £3,000 on architect fees, planning application fees and building regulation costs - and it's only just beginning!
