TV personality Amanda Lamb, 35, presents A Place in the Sun on Channel 4, helping people find their dream home abroad.

After my divorce, I decided to sell my house and move into a smaller property as I wanted something I could put my own stamp on, that would be easy to maintain. It's in a beautiful location only a two-minute walk from the Thames. I love my little flat. I believe in gut instinct when it comes to buying; only you will know if the property is right and you can make it your homeMy favourite space in the apartment is my bedroom. Thanks to my job, I spend most of my life in hotel rooms abroad so I love to come back to the flat. I have a bit of a thing about bedlinen. I adore crisp white sheets and hate sleeping in anything else, so it's heaven on earth when I return from filming and can just collapse into the comfort of my own bed. I can really relax there and, as a big fan of siestas, I'll often sneak into my room for a mid-afternoon nap.

The walls are all painted white, which is a recurring theme in the flat, and I suppose you could call it quite girly, with lots of pretty sequined cushions and throws, a huge white leather bed from Habitat and a canvas print of a chandelier hung above it. At the foot of the bed is the fireplace. I haven't attempted to get it working yet, so I've filled it with white scented candles instead.

I love my little flat. I believe in gut instinct when it comes to buying; only you will know if the property is right and you can make it your home. I feel I have done that here. For me, home is a place where I can shut the door on everything and retreat into my own world.'
