‘We always felt they had time to speak to us’
Teacher Joanne Magrath, 42, and her husband Desmond, 61, who is retired, moved into their new three-bedroom townhouse in Ascot, Surrey, in December last year. It was built by Lovells and cost around £436,000.
‘We'd been looking for an older house but properties around here are expensive. We looked at some new builds, and in terms of location and space they seemed like good value for money. When we went round the show home we asked what would be standard and what would be extra, and so it was very clear.
‘Because we were so local we tended to pop in to follow progress once the sale had gone through. The staff always made us feel they had plenty of time for us.
‘We had lots of input into the decor and before we completed, we went round the house with two Lovells staff and wrote out a snagging list. We came up with a few things, but they all were minor.
‘We were shown where all the switches were and how the boiler worked. We were also given a folder of information on caring for the house, instruction manuals, and even details about the local area, including schools.
‘I was nervous about whether all the things we chose would work together in the end, but it looks great.
‘Overall, I feel the service has been very good. We've been kept in the loop all the way and there have always been people to talk to. We're quite happy with the way it's gone.'
