Before you begin
This is an easy way to add colour and pattern to your living room, but also gives new life to a piece of furniture that may otherwise be thrown away. If you don't have an old coffee table, look out for one in charity shops.
How it's done
Measure your tabletop and ask a local glass merchant to cut a piece of glass to fit.
Sand the coffee table lightly all over and wipe it down to remove any dust.
Apply two coats of satinwood paint, leaving it to dry for at least 12 hours after each coat.
While the paint on the table is drying, lay the glass onto the wallpaper to use it as a template. Trace around the glass in pencil and, using a sharp pair of scissors, carefully cut along this line. Finally, place the wallpaper on the tabletop and secure it in place with the glass.
