Top McQueens florist Luis da Silva will be your tutor for the day, providing demonstrations and sharing professional tips in his own inimitable style, so you can indulge your own passion for flowers, making fragrant centrepieces and gorgeous wreaths to wow your family and friends. Your stunning creations will then be yours to take home.

 

Kally Ellis, the founder of McQueens, will be on hand to answer questions about how to achieve the perfect festive look and will give her expert advice if you fancy starting your own career in the floristry industry. The event will be held at McQueens flagship store in London on 5 December, so you'll have plenty of time to practise your new skills before Christmas.

 

The day will start with tea/coffee and pastries and a talk by Kally, followed by Luis's demonstrations and tuition. A delicious lunch with wine is included, and the day will end with a Q&A session with Kally and Luis. It's an ideal early Christmas present for someone special or a truly unforgettable day out for the girls, so don't miss out!

 

Kally Ellis

Kally, founder of McQueens, left her career in the City after literally dreaming of becoming a florist. With no experience, she bought a small florist's shop in London in 1991 and, within two years, turned the dwindling business around, providing displays for Hermès' and Gucci's Bond Street stores. McQueens also supplies flowers for HSBC - Kally is pictured above in HSBC 's Canary Wharf headquarters with her amazing displays. Now employing 30 staff, with a staggering £2.75m turnover in 2008, she'll be sharing her trade secrets at the SHE Experiences Christmas Flower School.

 

Luis da Silva

During his 15 years in the floristry industry, Luis da Silva has worked with all the top names, including Moyses Stevens, Rob Van Helden and Detta Phillips. And when he's not teaching in his role as course director at McQueens Flower School, Luis is a master florist to the stars. He recently created the sumptuous floral displays for the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party in Los Angeles and for George Michael's birthday party at the Berkeley Hotel in London. Luis is renowned for his inspirational teaching skills, which 35 lucky SHE readers will get the chance to experience at our Christmas Flower School.

Terms and Conditions

Tickets cost £200 each and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The ticket price includes access to the event detailed here, including coffee/tea and pastries and lunch with wine, and one SHE Experiences goodie bag per person. Tickets are non-refundable. SHE and McQueens reserve the right to change details of this event.

Return transport costs are not included in the ticket price and cannot at any stage be refunded by the organisers of the event.
