How to cook steak

  • 1 sirloin steak, 2cm thick
  • 1tbsp olive oil

Method

  1. Rub steak all over with oil and season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  2. Heat a griddle pan until hot then add steak and cook for 2 mins each side, keeping pan heat high. Remove and leave to rest for 10 mins before serving. This is for medium-rare steak, if you prefer it rare, cook for 1½ mins each side, or for medium, cook for 2½ mins each side.
