Make flower fairy cards
These pretty handmade cards will be a joy to receive
Enlarge templates to desired size to use as a guide for creating your fairy. Use whole flower heads or layers of larger petals to create fairy dresses. Petals with graduating colours make pretty wings.
We used very fine stems for the arms and legs, lavender for the hair and a pale petal for the face.
Arrange on a blank card and glue in place as before. Draw eyes and mouth on face with a fine black pen.
How to press flowers
Either use a shop-bought flower press, available from craft shops, or make your own press. Lay out flowers, leaves or stems on a tissue, so they dont overlap. Lay another tissue on top and place inside fold of a newspaper, or similar. Place a heavy book on top and leave for five to seven days, till flowers are flat and moisture has been removed. Alternatively, you can buy ready-pressed flowers. All flowers used in these projects are from Devon Pressed Flowers (visit www.devonpressedflowers.freeserve.co.uk or call 01626 367364).
