Hi All,

I'm Jae and I live in Southwest Scotland.  There are probably posts on this subject already but I haven't been able to find them.  I live alone and I'm on a limited budget.  I have a larder fridge (no ice box) and don't have a freezer so can't batch cook or take advantage of bogof offers.  I end up eating ready meals a lot but I'd love to cook fresh food for myself.  Any good frugal recipes for one where I don't end up having the same thing every night for a week?

Cheers

Jae

Hello Jae, have you got a good bookstore near you?  If so look up a copy of Delia Smith's One Is Fun which she designed specifically for those who cook just for themselves.  Alternatively since you have internet access try and look it up on Amazon.  Smile

Hi, Jae!  Do you eat meat, or are you vegetarian?  I am a lone vegetarian in a house of carnivores, so have a similar problem.  I cook up pots of pulses and grains or rice that will keep for a few days then I take what I need each night and just add a different seasoning and fresh vegetables.  I use the BBC website for daily help on seasonal foods too, which are cheap and widely available.  Hope this helps.
