I love cardmaking but am ashamed to say I don't make enough time to do it - I now only make cards when I really need them or they have been ordered by friends and family.  I have considered selling made-to-order cards online but have yet to get around to setting it up etc.  The main problem I have is that if I make a card, I have nothing to do with it.

I can't help buying more packs, stickers and blank cards everytime I go near a craft shop - that's where all my money goes, but unfortunately that's as far as it often gets and I have drawers of the stuff, ready and waiting.

Well, SNAP!!!  (and I think if we are honest, we are all guilty of having drawers full of lovely cardmaking items). I go thro' phases, sometimes I just make as and when I need them and other times I make a batch of 'just in case I need thems'!!   There are never enough hours to make all the things I would like to but I think cardmaking is a brilliant and relaxing hobby. keep it up and if you do get the chance to sell some of your creations, then have a go (even if it only covers the cost of your materials and allows you to buy lots more lovely bits!)

I too have got boxesand boxes full of different bits and bobs for card making and like you I go through phases. I tend to find that when I need a birthday card for someone I will always end up making four of five cards which I add to my own card box. Before long I have more than I need and end up selling them on behalf of either the local PTA or charity... I just love the fact that there is no other card like the one I have just made and even if I do try to re-create it again it always ends up different in some way....Betty-mayX

Hi Gizmo

I'm also interested in cardmaking. Both me and my daughter have been making cards for about 6 years.

I was just having a look at your cards in the Prima Members Crafts Photos. I particularly liked the pretty snowscene one of cottages and xmas trees with glittered snow. Would be interested to know how you made it? Is it handpainted or done with a stamp?

If anyone would like to see my cards, I have a photo gallery at Fotopic. http://www.kjcrafts.fotopic.net/

This is a link to a collection of cards which my daughter and me made for family and friends.

I make them, but using my own photography, or with my own hand dyed papers, original artwork, and embroidery.  I've many shoeboxes full of scraps I've saved from art and fabric dying projects over the years.  I can't bear to throw out the tiniest scrap.  Sad but true.
