I want to re-knit a pattern from a PRIMA dated March 1987. The yarn (called Sirdar Mosaic) is now out of&nbsp; date. What can&nbsp;I use, the needle sizes are 4mm for the rib and 51/2 for the body. HE

I've googled it, and it says the yarn weight is chunky, which is what I would expect for a 4mm needle.see if you can find a cheap ball of suitable wool, and knit a tension square from the pattern, see how it works out.

I would have thought those size needles would be more suited to ARAN.

Tension square will solve your problem.
