Well the dundee cakes didn't get done on account I forgot about soaking the fruit and nuts in booze overnight.  So to speed things up a bit I decided to put it in a pan and heat it gently, all was going well until I forgot about one of the pans and the fruit and stuff caught the bottom of the pan.  I rescued it quickly and tipped it into another pan and poured more booze over it, fingers crossed it will be OK.  So thats going to be Mondays job now lol!!

Himself isn't back yet, can't imagine where he's got to, may phone him in a minute just to see he's OK.

Dinner's on, but I seem to remember himself saying something about meeting number one son and his g/f if he was home in time, so it can be for tomorrow if needs be.

Just watched England loose the Rugby to Australia, happy days!  Well done Australia though they played well.

I know what you've been doing Yelir, I just had a look at your lovely cards on the Craft Thread,  you are so clever, wish I had the patience to make cards.

How have your day's been?

Hi Pat,

Sorry to hear about your cakes. At least the fruit will get a good soaking now, what boose do you put it in?

I hope you enjoy your craft show tomorrow and make sure you get carried away if Himself is with you and will spoil you...lol.

Well we did our walk and I am absolutely done in now lol so out of condition. We had a lovely coffee and a Danish halfway so that spurred me on for the return journey. The seafront was so busy, as all the local hotels have started Turkey and Tinsel holidays this week, so all the holidaymakers were in their element with the beautiful weather.

I am just sitting watching some useless telly,as OH is just making a cup of tea. He is also cooking tonight (stirfry)so I get a whole evening off.  Lovely. Hope you have all had good days today. xx

           Hugs to all Cathy xx

Just had a look at your cards Yelir, they are very good. My day has been very quiet 0/H just not right, very bad cough. luckily he is not working to-morrow. Pat hope you get your fruit soaked for the Dundee cakes, have a lovely time at the NEC wish I could go too, it will be a lot bigger than the one at the SECC. Cathy you are like me, if I walk too far I am exhausted, it must of been lovely down at the sea front, our weather has not been great. Enjoy your Chinese Yelir, hope the pain goes away. Hope all the rest of the ladies get better soon.

Hi, folks

Lazy day again.  I really must get down to some housework next week.  I don't know what's happened to me this week, must be suffering from the change to the clocks still.

Going out to a party tonight, though. OH doesn't feel like going so I'm going with #1 Son and family.  #2 Son and family are going too, so it's a bit of a family affair.  It's Daughter-in-law's sister-in-law's  (I know, it's a bit convoluted) 40th birthday, so should be a good night.

Hope it does me good and gives me some energy to get going. It's been ages since I had a night out.

Have a good evening/day, and good night's sleep, everyone .

Love & Hugs

Had a do-nothing sort of day. Cooked lunch, did some washing, went out to see some friends, which was fun, came back, cat is on the waistcoat again, the fire is lit, and I will get on with my knitting.

Have closed up the shutters all round the ground floor, just in case it's really cold. Stops all the heat going out through the windows, anyway.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Mim-mum, enjoy your night out.

Pat, the fruit may taste even better for having been pan-roasted!

LC, glad you had a good walk. Was it cold? There was quite a breeze going here. I could do with a walk by the sea myself...

Yelir, you haven't left a hairpin in, have you? (Sorry, that conjured up a picture of Ena Sharples in a hairnet!)

Gizmo, another one with a sick OH - they are dropping like flies at the moment. Hope he feels better for a day off.

Hope it's not too noisy for you all tonight. Enjoy your evening, whatever you are doing.

Love, BB

HI ALL,

after a bit of a noisy start with the 2GD's it has been very quiet, apart from my neighbour knocking 7 bells out of our joint wall.  grrrrr. Why he cannot do it through the week I don't know as he is retired and is at home all day. He started it last Sunday and then is quiet through most of the week. He starts banging just as His-nibs goes for an afternoon nap!! Then starts again on Saturday and Sunday.

I will have to wait for my chance of revenge.!!

Going to sit and knit for the rest of the evening.

Have a good time at the party, Mini-mum. Ages since I had a night out.

Smile

Well after going to fetch the car from the garage at a cost of £196.60 i had to pop to town to get some more cash from the machine...got FILS's phone on charge, i am going to put all numbers in it shortly, and then i will give it him at football tomorrow.

My cold seems to just be there in my throat and head and not much else, so hopefully it doesn't get any worse and it goes quickly! I don't feel as cold either.

We have just eaten a takeaway, we all had Indian hubby had a pizza, he won't eat anything too different!! lol...

Hello at last everyone!

Logged on this morning after a long lie (after feeding & letting Missy out before anyone calls the SSPCA) & Aunt phoned before I could post. Over an hour later, son came downstairs & just HAD to have laptop before driving lesson. Took Missy out for her walk & when back decided to go up to see parents before I lost my nerve. Son said he'd come with me which helped as I knew he would distract Dad & maybe I would escape the usual histrionics. Sister was there with her 4 year old so visit went well. When we got back my laptop mysteriously disappeared again - must do something about this.

Poor wee Missy stopped at side of woodland path for a _ _ _ let go her ball (can't multitask!) which then rolled down slope & then down steep drop toward river. Had to leave it, then further along where river is level with path, she went in for a paddle & suddenly took off down the river to look for her ball! My heart was in my mouth as it is flowing fast just now. She clambered up slope & I could see branches twitching as she moved through the trees, before coming charging back down the path. I put her on the lead before she could try again! Phew!!

Had to give up knitting last night as my left hand had gone numb. Only a wee bit to finish off now. Have looked at new posts on craft thread - your ted is gorgeaous Pat & your cards are lovely, Yelir - especially like the reindeer. And I love the kittie at the end of your posts, Yelir - might even scare Missy!

BB - I've met Yelir & she looks nothing like Ena Sharples!

Mini-mum - good to hear you are going out to party after all the worry you have had with OH - have fun!! Hope your OH improves Gizmo - love the wee doggy! Glad you enjoyed your walk, Cathy - I do miss the sea - what is Turkey & Tinsel? Pat, what a pain about your fruit but glad you could rescue it.

Hope everyone else has had a good day
