I was wondering if any of you ladies who have or had young children, at what ages you started to take them to Pantomimes?

Sasha (GD) is now 3 and we were wondering if she would be too young to take this year to watch one.

What do you ladies think? xx

I don't think Sasha is too young.  I can't remember how old mine were when we started but this year we are going to Mother Goose.  Our children are 13 and 10, both boys so I am also hoping that they will enjoy it.  We last took them two years ago and they loved it.  We couldn't go last year coz my dad was dying.  He passed away on December 7th.

Anyway if you do go I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.  I think pantos are great.

Love and hugs

Angelcake. xx

Hi Cathy xx

I think Sasha would love it, Pantos are one of those wonderful things where Children just become mesmerised by what is going on in front of them, with brightly coloured costumes etc, its all part of christmas and getting into the spirit and I am sure whatever you take little Sasha to see she will love it Oh yes she will!!!!!! xxxx

love and hugs xxx

Hi Cathy, we go to a panto every year and have took our kids since they were aged 3.

This year will be the first time my youngest little man will come along with us and he was 3 in August.

I am sure Sasha will love it.

We are going to see Aladdin this time, i love them and cannot wait to go!

xx

Hi Cathy

I don't think 3 is too young so long as the "baddy" isn't too frightening!  Which one were you thinking of seeing?

I think it depends on the child. Some 3 year olds cannot sit still long enough to be interested.

Some of my grandchildren loved the panto at that age but others hated them.

It also depends on who is producing it. The local "amdrams" are usually good for the little ones. The big productions can be a bit intimidating. Then there are the tears (at York) when they don't get the free Wagon Wheels thrown out to the audience.!!!!!

I agree with FairyNuff

It depends on the child, some can get very frightened and others love it.

Some will sit others wont

Does Sahsa sit long enough to watch a film on tv?

Do Halloween  masks and costumes frighten her?

I would go to a matinee and be prepared to leave if she doesnt settle

I hope she loves it, you know your grandchild best.

Have fun

Hi Yelir, yes she will sit long enough and watch tv, especially CBeebies. She is a bit frightened by horrible noise( drilling, and her Dad(stupid) has told her about monsters, so she is a bit wary)  but not costumes, and she will be with her Mum as well as us.
