It's a soft furnishing one. I've been looking for someone to make a loose cover for a sofa without success so far.

It's probably going to be the case that I'll have to buy a new sofa because that's more economical than using one of the interior decorating firms round here.

Could you tell me how roughly much I would have to pay for a cover (three seater scroll arm with back and seat covers) if I'm lucky enough to find an independent seamstress to do it? Thanks, Carol.

Love - Bideshi

Hi Bideshi, Hope you don't mind me butting in.  I had my sofa recovered 2 years ago and the labour was £250.  My Habitat settee was a very boxy sort of shape so very easy to cut out so I can see yours might cost more.

Thanks Clarissa. What sort of fabric was that, and who provided it?

The fabric came from Fabric Warehouse which has since closed.  It was a mustard chenille, I bought the whole roll for about £300 so the total cost was £550.

Bideshi my apolgies also for butting in.

you asked your question to Carole, am wondering if you perhaps mean Cathy? (Ladies Corner) who I believe does soft furnishings work, curtains, covers ect as her profession.

please forgive me if I'm wrong!

Quite right, Dell. My brain was saying Cathy, but my fingers typed Carol. Sorry Cathy, but you found me anyway. I seem to be doing that a lot these days. Aaargh!
