Hi Legaleaglet - I got here!  Wonder how many of the old Everhotters will venture across, and if the new expanded site will pick up lots more interested parties.

For anyone venturing into this thread for the first time, we are a group of people who have bought or are thinking of buying the Everhot range.  A wonderful cooker and desirable bit of kit for any kitchen.

Most of us have very positive things to say about it. We can answer questions and point you in directions that might be helpful and are totally unconnected to the manufacturers so completely unbiased - except in asmuch that we all seem to be a rather sad bunch who rather 'love' their ranges and possibly need to get out more!  Also nearly all of us are newcomers to the art of on-line chatting and have become quite a friendly funny bunch.

So ask away - anyone intending to join the distinctly distinguished group of Everhotters!

I did not click on the currently watching thread so I was not notified that you had found the new site.  As we said it may take some getting used to.

New pans work well.  I am now on the look out for a Wok and the old one I own is not flat on the bottom so a stir fry turns into a stir stew!   Stellar kettle is causing a few problems as the whistle keeps blowing off as the kettle boils.

We may have to switch off this week as the kitchen fitter is coming to finish the mantle. It will interesting to see how long Evey takes to get back up to temperature. (my recollection on installation was two hours)   Unfortunately it may also mean I may feel oblidged to clean the hot plate and lid!!!    The art of cleaning is a forgotton skill as the whole house is covered in thick building dust.   We are reduced to living in our kitchen at the moment as the rest of the rooms are not finished and we have to wait for the floor to dry( an month and inch of concrete) so we can lay the wooden floor!!!!.

I can't decide if it's sad or not, seeing as chat-rooms get a bit of a drubbing from the chattering classes(tho' they seem to have quite a few blogs on-line in The Guardian!) but I was a bit miffed when the old CL forum wound down.  It's very nice to be able to chuck ideas back and forth as we all have been doing over the last few months about our Everhots.  (That sounds a bit menopausal!)

So like lizev2 I am really pleased to find some of you here and know you're alive and well and cooking on....well, not gas for sure!

legaleaglet - I feel for you.  That building dust in everything stage is horrible.  I've survived through seven house reconstructions (not the same house you understand), and if I never eat a bowl of gritty cornflakes again it will be too soon.

If you do decide you need to clean the hot-plate and lid, that white sponge stuff is the biz.  I would love to know how it works.  The packaging is coy in the extreme and doesn't even give active ingredients.

Did you all notice the message from the administrator on the old site?  It is being gradually closed down. Read only now, and as archive of interesting stuff for the future.

Have any of you found out how to get notified by the site by email when a new post in this thread is posted?  I used to get an email notification, can't see how to request this now.

I have finally managed to track this thread down.  I posted a couple of times on the old site, but then just occasionally read what others had to say.  However, I am now excitedly awaiting the delivery of my Everhot 100i on Friday next week.  Our kitchen is partially finished and the space is waiting to be filled.  Unfortunately the tiling won't be done for another 2.5 weeks after the cooker is in, but at least I'll be able to get started.

Thank you all for your useful comments on the other site.  I hope I'll soon have something to contribute here!
